“Part of the Earth” single

Posted by on 3:52 pm in Blog | 0 comments

Recently, I had the opportunity of working with my friend, Tim Kubart on a song called “Part of the Earth”. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the song encourages kids (and adults) to do their part in shaping the future of our planet. The song is available on streaming sites like Spotify. However, if you choose to give money on Bandcamp, all will be donated to No Kid Hungry. While we all deal with the effects of Cov-19, it is important to think about those who are having an even harder time dealing with this...

80’s fun at The Friars Club

Posted by on 9:13 pm in Blog | 0 comments

I had a blast the other night, singing some classic 80’s tunes at The Friars Club. Picture me strutting around in a Members Only jacket, jamming to everything from Michael Jackson to AC/DC. What a gig to begin...

Drue Davis hits the Blue Note with Masta Ace & Marco Polo

Posted by on 12:55 am in Blog | 0 comments

Friday night, I had the awesome opportunity of rocking at the Blue Note with Hip Hop legend, Masta Ace and my boy, Marco Polo. Ace is one of those unsung heroes of the culture. I remember hearing “Ace & Action” on Red Alert. Watching the “Me & the Biz” and “The Music Man” videos on Video Music Box, I saw a young MC being creatively free and more importantly, himself. A few years later, my cousin would put me on to his “Slaughtahouse” album, at a time when I was...

Summer Sailing with AM Gold

Posted by on 3:07 am in Blog | 0 comments

This summer, I will be sailing along, in song with AM Gold Yacht Rock Party. Yacht Rock, in case you didn’t know, is pretty much, smooth pop and rock tunes from the mid 70’s through the mid 80’s (think Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, Toto)..yeah. The songs are very familiar, but the name itself, comes from a comedic parody series based on bands from that era crossing paths at a yacht club (check it out on Youtube). Catch me Sailing and Singing this summer: ...

Snapshots from the Sofar Sounds show

Posted by on 11:10 pm in Blog | 0 comments

Last weeks Sofar Sounds show, took place at Mohawk, a flooring company. It was a fun, light hearted atmosphere that set the perfect mood for the evening. The week was pretty rough and honestly, I needed to sing and spit (rap) my heart out. Chip, Conor and I warmed up away from the performance area to loosen up a bit and shake off the woes of the week. We set the evening off with acoustic renditions of “Magic Man, “Shotgun”, a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Big Brother” and tried out a new song (that is a work in progress) called...

Posted by on 6:00 pm in Blog | 0 comments

It’s been awhile, so I just want to give a quick update on what I’ve been up to. Well, I will be doing a show with Sofar Sounds. It is always a blast and I expect tonight to be no different. My good friends Conor Moran (guitarist) and Chip Thomas (drums/percussion) will be joining me. I’ll be performing something old, something new, something borrowed (cover), all things Drue…lol. Check out what Sofar Sounds is all about! I’ve been working with students at Suny Purchase from both the Artist Management and...

The Beacon Theatre with PMJ

Posted by on 4:47 am in Blog | 0 comments

This past Thursday morning, I realized just how fast 5 years have gone by since I started touring with Postmodern Jukebox. That evening, I had the pleasure of being reminded just how amazing the experience can be while joining some of the “O.G’s” and some new talented musicians at the Beacon Theatre. Hearing their take on touring with PMJ (some for the first time) brought me back. It was amazing to just witness the show unfold from the side of the stage (I’ve hosted the show most of the time I’ve toured). The Beacon Theatre is truly...

New Year…Grammy Nom, Spotify Streams & New Project

Posted by on 7:42 am in Blog | 0 comments

So let’s begin the year with a bang! Tim Kubart’s, Building Blocks has been nominated for a Grammy. Recently, we had the opportunity of performing some of the songs (including Block Party) from this project and the Grammy award winning album, Home. at Sirius XM studios. Check out the link below! https://player.siriusxm.com/now-playing Well, for someone who hasn’t released new music of his own in awhile, I had a pretty cool year with Spotify. Most of all, 2018 taught me to focus on my well being. I had a lot...

Drue Davis featured on Tim Kubart’s album, Building Blocks

Posted by on 12:33 am in Blog | 0 comments

Around this time last year, I had the pleasure of rapping and singing some background vocals for Tim Kubart’s (Tambourine Guy to the PMJ fans) new album, Building Blocks. Currently, the song Block Party featuring Carly Ciarrochi and I, is in Sirius XM radio’s Top 10 for Kids. Check out the entire project which includes Block Party below.

Scenes from the Sofar Sounds show

Posted by on 8:33 pm in Blog | 0 comments

The recent show I played at the Sofar Sounds office was amazing. My guitarist, Conor, and I played Magic Man, Shotgun, Don’t Dream It’s Over and got to perform a new song, Shadows for the first time ever! I always get the stomach butterflies before a show but this time, I was actually nervous. I realized that it has been a while since I’ve done an acoustic set. The intimate setting can seem a bit intimidating but after the first song I felt the warmth. It was really awesome and Shadows was received extremely well. I’m...

Reved up for Radio City

Posted by on 4:01 am in Blog | 0 comments

Last Thursday, May 3rd, I had the opportunity of rocking at Radio City Music Hall again, this time for Youtube’s Brandcast event. Camila Cabello and Ariana Grande headlined the evening. The performance was less than a minute but because there were moving stages and was part of a bigger production, it was two days of rehearsals. Well, getting the in ear monitors to work correctly, in time for the performance was “fun” but it all worked out for the actual performance. May 3rd, is also my mother’s birthday. May 8th would make 20 years...

Postmodern Jukebox West Coast Tour recap

Posted by on 5:13 pm in Blog | 0 comments

Sometimes you just need a few days out of town and on on a bus to reflect on the joys of tour life. Well, on the first day, I got to say hi to Kendrick Lamar as he entered the rehearsal studio we were in. The TDE crew were rehearsing in the studio room next to us, which I presume was for Cochella. This California run of shows were an absolute blast! It was the first time I met most of the musicians but we gelled fairly quick. Tim Kubart and Scott Bradlee made surprise visits on two of the shows and enjoyed a dose of classic Motown...

Another Super Sofar Sounds night!!!

Posted by on 4:10 pm in Blog | 0 comments

I had an amazing time performing at and being a part of this Sofar Sounds event. This time, it was at a yoga/ workout studio. It was a packed room and pretty hot (it was a yoga studio, lol). However, once the show started, it was the last thing on everyone’s mind. The artist that played were really awesome and both the energy and engagement of the audience was amazing. My friend and guitarist, Conor Moran, and I have a blast playing these events. It’s so different from our full band shows and allow us to connect in a more intimate...
